TSEC holds a Texas DSHS Asbestos Laboratory license for phase-contrast microscopy (PCM). Air samples collected during abatement and at clearance are analyzed by our own analysts rather than handed to an outside laboratory, which removes courier logistics and an outside queue from the critical path.
For a contractor that means direct communication between the technician who collected the sample and the analyst reading it, and a single firm accountable for the data. When a project calls for PLM bulk analysis or TEM clearance, we coordinate that with accredited partner laboratories and manage the chain of custody ourselves.
What the laboratory does
- Phase-contrast microscopy (NIOSH 7400) for abatement air monitoring and clearance
- Analysis scheduled around your construction sequence, including time-sensitive closeouts
- Direct coordination between field personnel and the analyst — no third-party handoff
- Chain of custody, laboratory data, and analyst records included as report appendices

Our laboratory participates in proficiency testing programs sponsored by unbiased, third-party industry organizations. That participation helps ensure we meet or exceed current industry quality and performance standards for the analysis of asbestos.
What this means for your schedule
Air monitoring and clearance results are only useful if they arrive while the containment is still standing and the crew is still mobilized. Running the laboratory in house is how we keep that part of the schedule under our own control instead of an outside vendor's. Turnaround on any specific project is confirmed in writing with the proposal.
